Geology

West Kundip covers an area of Proterozoic dolomite and mudstone overlying Archaean tonalite approximately 15km south of Ravensthorpe. The Manyutup Tonalite covers the northern portion of the tenement, which has been intruded by numerous Proterozoic dykes. The tonalite is overlain by Mt Barren Group sediments which include a 23m thick dolomite and mudstone sequence defined by drilling. This sequence is then overlain by quartzites and shales, with a second dolomite layer covering the eastern part of the lease. The basal dolomite comprises approximately 20% of the sequence, with a manganese-rich unit of the dolomite occurring as cavity fillings and replacement of the dolomite.

Proposed Programme Proposed exploration of this project area comprises geophysical surveys, geological mapping and sampling, followed up by drilling to define the potential for economic manganese and dolomite mineralisation.
