Galaxy Resources Ltd is a mineral exploration company with interests throughout Western Australia.
While Cattlin Creek is the centre piece of Galaxy’s 185km2 ground holding within the Ravensthorpe Greenstone Belt, there are other areas prospective for volcanic hosted copper-zinc, copper-gold, and nickel-copper sulphide as well as epigenetic gold mineralisation. Some of these areas are already being explored under a farm-out agreement with Pioneer Nickel Limited. In addition there is oxide iron ore mineralisation present in the near surface weathered zone of massive pyrite, which is also prospective for base metals (copper-lead-zinc).
In addition to the Ravensthorpe package, Galaxy has also secured a number of other tenement areas which are deemed by the board to be prospective for the following minerals:
Ponton - rare earths and uranium, adjacent to Paladin’s Ponton uranium project
Shoemaker - base metals, gold and iron ore
Connolly - base metals
Boxwood Hill - base metals.
Galaxy is based in Perth, Western Australia. The company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in February 2007.
